Reviews for local listing management software services and analysis of user reviews about your competitors

The new social media dashboard has made it more difficult to implement, but I’m sure it will get better as I learn how to use it. I feel as though it was thrust upon us quickly.

I also feel that there are some features missing from the social scheduling, such as an easier way to readjust photo sizing.

Ease of use is not easy. Trying to get direction on what I am asking for has been a LONG process.

We have to continuously email back & forth. S– tells me this should work this way, when I get into my system it does not work.

I still have not received the notifications that I am supposed to get when updated my website or when reviews are received or responded to.

The P– page is not easy to use or to add information that we would like to use on our website. I am still working through issues. Going on 2 months trying to make sure my website gets updated. Not a fan!

The status of a listing is often not correct … it says “synced” but not actually synced

The support team is atrocious, it: a) doesn’t respond on time, b) doesn’t do what you ask them to, c) will provide conflicting information in the same ticket, d) give totally inconsistent responses as to whether they can do something

Duplicate resolution and merge requests — Y– claims they can do that and monitor for it, but neither do they monitor, help you merge, or suppress duplications — in fact you have to do most of the work yourself

Data sync is inconsistent … even if you update data it doesn’t always migrate to all the platforms, so you have to check individual platforms which defeats the whole purpose of Yext

We paid for a healthcare subscription, but we only get 2 healthcare specific directories, and they’re very obscure ones; this is because we are “healthcare locations” and we weren’t given that information before paying extra for the subscription

very marketing focused, isn’t much material in terms of practical walkthroughs for end clients and their billing and support is atrocious

If you are part of a small business or dynamic business that needs to pivot as business needs dictate, you should NOT consider C– services. Along with numerous obstacles, the pandemic brought debilitating staffing challenges for our business, and we had to close multiple locations.

C– would not provide any assistance by reducing the number of locations in our contract. We were forced to pay for expensive services that could not be used during an incredibly difficult period.

When our annual renewal bill was sent, we notified C– that we wanted to cancel and explained we could no longer utilize their services without many locations in operation. C– stated that we were required to cancel at least 60 days prior to the annual bill (even though they sent no notice or reminder of this).

The only option C– would provide, besides a payment plan for the entire annual bill, was to buy out the annual contract for nearly $4,000!

Small business owners need the option to discontinue services with reasonable timing if they do not meet current business needs. Inflexibility and unfairness help no one and it’s simply not good business.

In today’s world of constant change, please be warned not to sign a contract with C–.

Real review to a real local listing management software service

Local listing management software is crucial for businesses seeking to enhance their online visibility and accuracy of their business information across various platforms. Despite the importance of these tools, common mistakes made by service providers often lead to customer dissatisfaction and underperformance.

By analyzing customer reviews and identifying these recurring issues, we can guide how to refine these services to better meet user needs.

Here’s a comprehensive breakdown of these mistakes and how your service can outperform competitors by addressing them effectively.

Inconsistent data across platforms

What competitors get wrong: A major issue with competitors is the inconsistency in business information across different listing platforms. Users frequently report discrepancies in addresses, phone numbers, and operation hours among various sites, which confuses potential customers and negatively impacts business reputation.

How to do it better: Develop a more robust synchronization feature that ensures all changes are updated in real-time across all platforms.

Your software should regularly verify information accuracy and provide alerts for discrepancies. Position your service as the reliable solution for maintaining uniformity in business listings, highlighting your advanced synchronization capabilities.

Limited platform coverage

What competitors get wrong: Many local listing management tools focus only on major platforms like Google and Yelp, neglecting other important directories that are relevant to specific industries or locales.

How to do it better: Expand the reach of your software to include a broader array of listing sites, especially those specific to certain industries (like TripAdvisor for travel or Zomato for dining).

Showcasing the breadth of your platform’s coverage can be a significant differentiator, attracting clients who are looking to maximize their visibility across a diverse range of directories.

Complex user interface

What competitors get wrong: Users often struggle with complicated interfaces that make managing listings more difficult than it needs to be. Competitor software can be non-intuitive, requiring extensive training or technical knowledge to navigate.

How to do it better: Streamline your software interface to be more user-friendly. Focus on intuitive design and clear, accessible features that simplify the management process.

Offer quick tutorials within the application and maintain a comprehensive support center to help users understand how to use different features effectively.

Poor integration with marketing tools

What competitors get wrong: Another common complaint is the lack of integration with broader marketing tools. Competitors’ software sometimes stands alone, not connecting with tools for SEO, social media, or customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

How to do it better: Ensure that your software integrates seamlessly with key marketing and business management tools. This integration can help businesses leverage their listings for greater marketing impact, improving SEO and customer engagement.

Highlighting these integrations in your marketing will demonstrate your software’s value as part of a holistic marketing strategy.

Inadequate customer support

What competitors get wrong: Poor customer service is a frequent issue with existing local listing management tools. Users report slow response times and unhelpful support in resolving issues, which can lead to prolonged periods of incorrect listings.

How to do it better: Invest in a responsive, knowledgeable customer support team. Offer multiple support channels including live chat, email, and phone.

Train your team to handle specific queries related to local listing management effectively and efficiently, ensuring users feel supported throughout their experience.

Lack of reporting and analytics

What competitors get wrong: Competitors often do not provide sufficient reporting tools that allow businesses to analyze the performance of their listings across different platforms.

How to do it better: Incorporate comprehensive analytics and reporting features in your software. Provide users with detailed insights into how their listings are performing, including metrics like views, clicks, and customer interactions.

Such data can help businesses understand their local SEO impact and refine their strategies accordingly.

Conclusion

By addressing these common mistakes observed in competitor local listing management software, your service can offer a superior alternative that effectively meets the needs of today’s businesses.

Focus on ensuring data consistency, broad platform coverage, user-friendly design, effective integrations, excellent customer support, and powerful analytics capabilities. These enhancements will not only set your software apart but also empower your clients to optimize their local online presence, leading to improved business outcomes.

Is this what you expect to see at the end of the article? No!

Oh, what an absolute epiphany—addressing common mistakes observed in competitors’ software! Clearly, no one else in the realm of local listing management has ever considered such an innovative strategy.

By offering a “superior alternative,” you’re practically inventing a new genre of software. What a trailblazer!

Focusing on data consistency? Stop it, my sides can’t take it! Because, obviously, every other software out there is just scrambling data for fun.

And broad platform coverage? Gosh, it’s almost like businesses exist on more than one platform online!

Who would have guessed? You must be the first to unlock this secret.

A user-friendly design? Revolutionary!

It’s not like “user-friendly” has been the buzzword du jour for literally decades. Surely, by now, you’re patenting this concept because it’s such uncharted territory.

And let’s not overlook the “effective integrations”—because nothing says cutting-edge like software that actually works with other software. It’s practically magic!

Excellent customer support? Now you’re just showing off. Providing support that actually helps customers?

You might just break the internet with that kind of radical thinking. And powerful analytics capabilities—because, clearly, businesses have been thriving on gut feelings alone until your software came along.

With these enhancements, you’re not just setting your software apart; you’re basically catapulting it into a new dimension where clients can “optimize their local online presence” like they’re wielding some kind of sorcery.

Watch as businesses flock to your software, dazzled by the sheer audacity of its competence. You’re not just improving business outcomes; you’re redefining them!
